D-Link’s DWR-921, DWR-932C, and DWR-222 are popular 4G LTE devices used as home routers, portable MiFi hotspots, and USB modems. Carriers like Telesol (Ghana), MTN, Airtel, Vodafone, and Glo sell these devices locked to their network.

Unlike Huawei or ZTE routers, D-Link devices do not prompt for an unlock code. The firmware has no built-in SIM unlock interface. The only way to unlock them is through remote desktop software, where our technician accesses your computer and runs specialized tools to remove the carrier lock.
Supported D-Link Models

|---|---|---|---|
| DWR-921 | 4G LTE Indoor Router | Ethernet cable to PC | Telesol, MTN, Airtel |
| DWR-932C | 4G LTE Portable MiFi | USB cable to PC | Telesol, Vodafone, Glo |

Why D-Link Devices Cannot Be Unlocked by Code
Most router brands (Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel) include an unlock code prompt in their firmware. D-Link’s approach is different:
- No SIM unlock interface — the web admin panel has no “enter unlock code” option
- Carrier-customized firmware — each carrier receives a locked firmware build from D-Link
- No unlock code generation — D-Link does not provide carrier unlock codes to third parties
This is why remote software unlocking is the only working method.
